CSSA OFFICE/CORRESPONDENCE FAQ

I CONTACTED YOUR OFFICE AND HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED A RESPONSE/THE INDIVIDUAL WHO ANSWERED THE PHONE TRANSFERRED ME TO VOICE-MAIL.

We try to provide the best level of service possible. It is our goal to get back to everyone in a timely manner. However, we cannot always have staff in office. Keeping that in mind please give us a minimum of 24 hours to respond to you.

 

CAN A BOARD MEMBER OR COMMITTEE MEMBER HELP ME WITH INDUSTRY ADVICE?

Please email our Executive Director, Erin King, to arrange for an appointment with a board member or staff member.

 

I CALLED YOUR OFFICE AND THE PERSON WHO ANSWERED WAS NOT KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE ASSOCIATION OR TRANSFERRED ME TO VOICE-MAIL.

Our office is a shared executive office space and all calls are filtered through the shared receptionist prior to our office receiving them. We do not employ the receptionist and she is unable to assist in association matters. In rare cases she may have event information when our office is closed, but we recommend visiting our website or leaving a voice-mail.

 

CAN I MEET WITH AN ASSOCIATION EMPLOYEE OUT-SIDE OF EVENTS?

In some cases our Executive Director, Erin King is available for personal meetings. You are welcome to contact us in this regard but please keep in mind that there may be a waiting period.

 

CSSA WEBSITE/MEMBERSHIP FAQ

WHY AM I LISTED IN THE DISTRICT MANAGER OR FACILITY MANAGER GROUP WHEN THAT IS NOT MY JOB DESIGNATION?

Unfortunately our website is not as personalized to our industry as preferred. Only the parent member can be inserted in as the company owner meaning that all other company associates must be delegated into the District Manager and Facility Manager titles. Please keep in mind that the group you are in does not reflect job title or restrict the people you can communicate with. For example, most members in the District Manager group are not district managers. They have been placed there because it is the next level of membership below the owner. If you need further clarification or assistance please feel free to contact us in regard.

 

WHY CAN’T I USE THE COMMUNITY SEARCH?

The community search will only work if you are currently logged into our website. We have done this to ensure that non-members are not able to access the contact information of our members in an effort to block unwanted emails and correspondences.

 

HOW CAN I GET A COPY OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP LIST?

All members in good standing are entitled to a copy of our current membership list. To receive this please email us at info@cssaweb.com specifying that you would like a copy of the membership list and the email address you would like it to be sent to. We will send the list to you in excel format as soon as possible.

 

CAN I EMAIL OTHER MEMBERS ABOUT MY BUSINESS AND SERVICES?

All current members in good standing are welcome to correspond with one another, whether it is one on one or via bulk email. We only ask that your content is respectful and industry appropriate and does not reflect CSSA endorsement in any way.

 

CAN I CALL YOU WITH A LEGAL QUESTION?

All current members in good standing are welcome to contact us with any questions they may have. None of our in-office employees are lawyers or have legal backgrounds so we will not be able to give you legal advice. However, we would be happy to answer your question to the best of our abilities based on our industry knowledge as well as get you in touch with an industry lawyer who can better assist you.

 

I AM A SELF STORAGE TENANT WHO IS CURRENTLY HAVING AN ISSUE WITH A SELF STORAGE PROVIDER. CAN YOU HELP ME?

We are a non-profit trade association that supports the self storage industry in California. Due to the nature of our association it is not appropriate for us to get involved in tenant/facility disputes. Though we do encourage that our members uphold a high standard of customer service we have no say in how they conduct themselves professionally. If you are having some sort of dispute, the best course of action is to contact a lawyer or the Better Business Bureau.

 

WEBSITE - HOW CAN I?


CHANGING/UPDATING PASSWORD

You can update your user-name and password by doing the following: once logged in visit MANAGE PROFILE which will be located on the right hand side. From there select EDIT BIO. From here you can update your user-name and password.


MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL/PAYING DUES

In order to renew your membership you must be logged on to the Parent Members account. Once logged in you can visit MEMBERSHIP which is located under INVOICING, PAYMENTS & HISTORY in your member profile. From here you can view your expiration date or renew your membership securely.


UPDATING YOUR MEMBERSHIP PROFILE

You can update your profile by doing the following: once logged in select MANAGE PROFILE which will be located on the right hand side under MY PROFILE. From there select EDIT BIO.


CHANGING/DELETING PROFILE PICTURE

You can change or delete your profile pictures by doing the following: once logged in visit PROFILE HOME which will be located on the right hand side. From there position your mouse over your photo and select CHANGE or DELETE.


CUSTOMIZE WEBSITE ALERTS/EMAILS AND VIEWING PREFERENCES

You are able to customize the alerts/emails the site sends you as well as your profile viewing preferences by visiting MANAGE PROFILE on the right hand side under MY PROFILE. From here select PREFERENCE and then un-check the items you would like to disable.


You can customize the following –

 

EMAILS RECEIVED

  • When someone applies to an opening you have posted
  • When community events are added
  • When a connection invite has been received
  • When a connection updates their profile
  • When a connection uploads a new photo
  • When an event is added to a group of which I am a member
  • When someone in one of my groups updates their profile
  • When someone joins a group of which I am a member
  • When someone uploads a photo to a group of which I am a member
  • When I have unread messages older than 30 days in my inbox
  • When new messages arrive

PRIVACY SETTINGS

  • Display my ‘Online Now’ status and allow others to start a chat with me
  • Share my favorites with others who can see my profile
  • Turn on my wall and allow other members to view my connections
