Professional Bio
Byung earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Northwestern University and has been a leader in the real estate investment industry for over two decades. Since 2003, he has led Metropolitan Investments and currently serves as Executive Director of Acquisitions and Development.
An active member of the self-storage industry, Byung has been involved with CSSA for more than 20 years and has been a member since 2008. He has served on the Finance Committee and Executive Committee and has been a board member, including serving as Treasurer.
Born and raised in Seoul, Korea, Byung immigrated to the United States in 1989 at the age of 17 and remains fluent in both Korean and English, reading news daily in both languages. Outside of work, Byung is raising three children with his wife and is actively engaged in public service, having been elected in 2023 to the Board of Education for the Redondo Beach Unified School District.
