Los Angeles County Extends Price Restrictions
Los Angeles County Extends Price Restrictions
January 21, 2026
The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has issued a series of emergency orders imposing price restrictions. The most recent order extends these restrictions through February 27, 2026, and applies to all cities and unincorporated areas within Los Angeles County (see here).
As part of an oral amendment to the order, County staff has been directed to analyze the ongoing effects of the pricing restrictions and report back to the Board of Supervisors by February 10, 2026.
To support this process, SSA has engaged its lobbyist and a specialized lobby/PR firm with deep familiarity in Los Angeles politics. SSA is also working closely with CSSA to help influence the County’s report and build the case for excluding self storage from any future extension of the pricing restrictions.
Data Needed from Operators
To strengthen this effort, we are asking members to share any relevant operational data, including:
- Whether occupancy increased following the wildfires (facility-level or tenant ZIP code data is ideal)
- Whether promotions were offered to wildfire victims
- How many tenants used those promotions
- Any other wildfire-related occupancy or pricing impacts you observed
Share Your Data
Please send any available information as soon as possible to:

Thank you to SSA for working with CSSA in collaboration to protect the industry and advocate for reasonable policy outcomes.
