Chair of the Board Message: Keeping the Momentum Going
Howdy CSSA members! With a Super El Niño winter reportedly pending for The Golden State, I hope your transition from summer has been tranquilo so far. Here at CSSA it has been a busy few months, and we have plenty to share as we head further into fall and begin looking ahead to 2027.
One of the most exciting developments has been the continued strong growth of our Young Leaders Group and the enthusiastic response to the official launch of CSSA’s Women in Storage program. Both initiatives create new opportunities for members to connect, collaborate, and influence the industry. It's great to see so much enthusiasm and fresh energy from these voices within our association and we encourage you to spread the word.
We've also expanded our educational offerings, with more programs available at reduced rates, or completely free, for members. To date, we have hosted nine webinars, with more to come, spanning topics ranging from capital markets to navigating legislation affecting your businesses. These online events are an easy way to keep current and well worth attending.
On the legislative front, CSSA remains hard at work advocating for our storage in Sacramento and beyond. With the support of our Legislative Committee, CSSA PAC, Industry Advocacy Fund, and coalition partners, we have significantly amplified our collective message to ensure that the interests of our sector are fairly represented.
On a festive note, be sure to attend one of our upcoming December networking gatherings in NorCal, LA, Orange County and San Diego. These gatherings are a great opportunity to reconnect with industry friends and enjoy time together outside of a business setting. Registration is open now on our Events page.
Meanwhile, planning for 2027 is already underway. Sponsorship opportunities are officially open, and registration for our Napa Conference, taking place May 17-18, will begin in November. The 22nd Annual Self Storage Owners Summit will follow on July 15th in Newport Beach. These are marquis events, with a national draw, and not to be missed.
There's always a lot happening at CSSA, and we appreciate the continued involvement of our members, volunteers, sponsors, and staff who work diligently to promote excellence and keep the organization moving forward.
