Chairman Update for CSSA Insight Newsletter Quarter 3 2025
"My grandchildren collection is growing fast."
Well, 2025 has certainly been a whirlwind. It’s hard to believe that we’re gearing up for Q4 already. It seems as though I just stopped adding “Happy New Year” messaging to my outgoing emails.
The good news is that it’s winding up to be another landmark year for the CSSA. We had record-setting attendance at our marquee Newport Beach Summit and Napa Conference events, both of which easily qualified as “best-ever” in my humble opinion. Terrific content and first-rate speakers were the headlines for each event – especially Palmer Luckey, who entranced the Newport crowd. Our Napa charity golf tournament was also a smash success. And, as usual, our educational events throughout the year updated and illuminated our members on the most pressing issues that we navigate in running our businesses.
But as most of you know, it’s a new day when it comes to our legislative challenges. While we successfully steered away from pricing controls brought on by the SB709 threat, it seems as though the battles facing our industry are just beginning. Please stay tuned in on these. The CSSA has committed to a very proactive posture in Sacramento going forward, but we need the support of our membership more than ever in order to continue to protect our businesses from these regulatory threats.
Please don’t forget to join us at one of our holiday gatherings around the State. We look forward to seeing you to celebrate a great 2025, and prepare for an even greater 2026!
